His Story

Mike Brand, Ph.D., provides evidence-based, disciplined professional coaching for executives, healthcare leaders, academics, and professionals seeking clarity, performance optimization, and work–life balance. With 25+ years of leadership experience across academic medicine, the military, and clinical operations, he combines structured insight, disciplined growth, and outcome-driven strategies.
Dr. Brand, is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, College of Medicine and adjunct faculty in College of Public Health, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Oklahoma City. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel and Medical Services Officer in the United States Army Reserve and served as Reserve Social Work Consultant to the Surgeon General of the Army. He completed two tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) providing mental health services. Dr. Brand served as a senior clinical administrator in several behavioral health systems in Texas, Idaho, and Oklahoma for 15 years before beginning his academic career. He has served as a Performance Improvement consultant for the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) and the CDC; he is a Six Sigma Black Belt; a Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives, FACMPE, and a Certified Healthcare Compliance Professional, CHC and a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) International Coaching Federation.
